India China Ties | China Rejects India's Claim Over Shaksgam Valley, Defends Infra Push in J&K

China has rejected India’s claim over the Shaksgam Valley in Jammu and Kashmir, asserting that the territory belongs to China and defending its infrastructure construction in the region. New Delhi has reiterated that the Shaksgam Valley is an integral part of India and has never recognised the 1963 China-Pakistan boundary agreement or the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor passing through Indian territory under illegal occupation. The remarks by China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning come days after India restated its position, warning against attempts to alter the ground reality in the region and reserving the right to take necessary measures to safeguard its interests.
