A series of cartoon controversies recently hit the headlines. In the debates that followed, positions were taken on whether we had lost our sense of humour, our tolerance, and whether cartoons should be placed in textbooks. Cartoonists across the country made one critical point - Don't damn a cartoon without understanding it and its context. As part of our India@65 series, we look at the nation through its tradition of political cartooning.
