IIT Bombay Suicide Case | IIT Bombay Student Death: Exam Incident, ChatGPT Row And Campus Protest

A second-year IIT Bombay student, Sahil Wakode, died by suicide on Friday evening after an examination-related incident, according to the institute. IIT Bombay said Wakode, a student of the Department of Energy Science and Engineering, had uploaded an examination question paper on ChatGPT during the exam to seek answers. The institute said the student was subsequently counselled by the instructor and Head of Department and was assured that the incident would not adversely affect his academic career.
