The Israeli military released a video on Thursday that it claimed to show troops operation in Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip. In a second video, the army claimed to show a bombing of tunnels in the city of Khan Younis. Meanwhile, Israel says it wants to maintain troops in a southern corridor of the Gaza Strip - a condition that could derail the talks, as Israel and Hamas move closer to a ceasefire agreement. The war began when Hamas-led militants attacked southern Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, killing some 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and abducting 251. Most of the hostages have since been released in ceasefire agreements or other deals. Israel has rescued eight and recovered dozens of bodies. Israel's offensive killed more than 57,000 Palestinians, more than half of them women and children, according to Gaza's Health Ministry.
