The situation in Panchkula and Sirsa, the Haryana towns seared by violence yesterday after self-appointed "godman" Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was convicted of rape, is "very tense but under control", the Home Ministry has said. 31 people were killed and over 250 were injured in deadly clashes that followed the court verdict.
