How Assam Is Ensuring Healthcare Access To The Last Mile

On the NDTV-Dettol Banega Swasth India season 10 launch, Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that the government has expanded the medical colleges network in the state, by establishing at least one medical college in each district headquarter. Additionally, the government has decided to provide medical insurance, 'Ayushman Assam' (in line with Ayushman Bharat programme). The insurance cover of Rs 27 lakhs will be covered by the Centre, while the rest of the expenditure will be borne by the state, CM Sarma said.
