Homes Submerged, Rescue Underway: Delhi Reels Under Yamuna Flooding

The Yamuna River in Delhi has surged to 206.89 metres, well above the danger mark of 205.33 metres, following incessant rainfall and the release of water from Haryana's Hathnikund Barrage. Low-lying areas like Yamuna Bazar are heavily inundated, with water levels reaching up to 4 feet. Houses are submerged, and visuals from Ground Zero show worsening conditions compared to last year’s floods. NDRF and SDRF teams are on-site, conducting rescue operations and reinforcing embankments with sandbags to prevent further water seepage into the city. Relief camps have been set up in areas like Mayur Vihar as evacuation efforts continue.
