Historic Order: Sedition Law Stayed In India

The controversial sedition law will be paused while the government reviews it, the Supreme Court said today in a landmark order that impacts hundreds charged under the colonial-era relic. Those jailed for sedition can approach courts for bail. The demand for wheat grown in Madhya Pradesh has shot up in the international market amid short supply from Russia and Ukraine due to the ongoing war,  Farmers in Madhya Pradesh are now getting up to Rs 2400- 2,500/quintal of wheat in mandis as against the Rs 2,015 MSP. On the widely-debated question of criminalising marital rape, the Delhi High Court today delivered a split verdict. The case will now go to the Supreme Court.
