Has Trump Bitten Off More Than He Can Chew In Iran? US Expert Weighs In

Has the United States taken on more than it can handle in the escalating Middle East conflict? Speaking to NDTV, national security and foreign policy expert Mark Toth says the answer depends on Donald Trump’s ultimate objective in Iran. Toth says Washington appears focused on eliminating what it sees as Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile threats, as well as weakening Tehran’s military capabilities. However, he adds that the real question now is the endgame, whether the US stops after degrading Iran’s military power or pushes further toward regime change. He also points out that major uncertainties remain, including the fate of Iran’s highly enriched uranium stockpile and whether Washington is prepared to escalate further to reshape the regional order.
