The Delhi government has imposed a ban on bursting, manufacturing, storing and selling of firecrackers under Section 9B of the Explosives Act. Health Minister Gopal Rai has said manufacturing, storing and selling of firecrackers will attract a fine of Rs 5,000 and a jail term of three years. He said bursting of firecrackers will attract a fine of Rs 200 with a jail term of six months. This step is being taken by the government to keep pollution levels in control in Delhi. But there are claims that people still continue to sell and buy firecrackers illegally. NDTV's Wynonna Wadhwani does a ground report to see if the ban is actually followed or if the ground reality is completely different.
