Ground Report: Haryana Cop Killed By Mining Mafia; 1 Arrested, More At Large

In a horrifying incident that captures the terror of the mining mafia in Haryana, a senior police officer was run over by a stone-laden truck in Nuh when he went to stop illegal stone mining. One of the accused, the driver of the vehicle that ran him over, was arrested after he was injured in a shoot-out with the police. The dumper truck allegedly used in the crime has been found. The last rites of police officer Surender Singh Bishnoi will be held at his village in Hisar district. Tauru, where Mr Bishnoi was posted, observed a shutdown today to protest the murder of the police officer. The police said more suspects are at large.
