As union minister V Narayanasamy's denied making comments that the government was "actively considering" making the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) a multi-member body, an audio tape purported to be of the minister suggests otherwise. Yesterday, the Press Trust of India (PTI) said that the minister had disclosed that the government is actively considering converting the office of the CAG into a committee with three members. Even as Mr Narayanasamy said that he had been misquoted, the audio tapes of his purported conversation with the news agency, which were accessed by NDTV, suggest that his claims are incorrect.
