French President Arrives In Egypt To Back US-Led Gaza Peace Plan For Ceasefire

French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Egypt on Monday (October 13) for talks on implementing a peace plan presented by U.S. President Donald Trump to end the war in Gaza. The plan, brokered by Trump in coordination with Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey, aims to establish a permanent ceasefire, secure the release of all hostages, and restore full humanitarian access to Gaza, the Élysée Palace said. "The priority is obviously the resumption of humanitarian operations in Gaza within the next few hours," Macron told reporters on the tarmac in Sharm el-Sheikh.
