Footbridge Collapse During Ritual in Moodbidri: 8 Injured as Procession Turns Tragic
A religious procession in Karnataka's Dakshina Kannada turned tragic after an old footbridge collapsed in Puchchemogaru near Moodbidri, leaving at least eight people injured.
The incident occurred during the Takode Barke Dharma Nema ritual, when devotees were carrying the sacred chest (Daiva Bhandara) of Sri Kodamanittaya Daiva. According to reports, the decades-old bridge gave way after a beam broke, causing the palanquin to overturn mid-procession.
