Financial meltdown hits middle class

The global financial crisis seems to have hit India's middle class the most. An increase in home and car loan interests have meant that many families have had to cut back on their spending right ahead of the festival season. The Rajpals are preparing for their son's marriage. But it may not turn out to be the big, fat Indian wedding. This time the festivities are rather muted. And with high interest rates plans of buying a car are on hold.
