"Kesariya Balam", a song that has become synonymous with Rajasthan and familiar to audience across the country, it is sung in style called Maand - a semi-classical genre that evolved out of Rajasthan's folk music. It was once an essential part of music in Rajasthan's princely darbaars, but in new generation of singers there are a few who know the Maand repertoire. We bring to you one young, talented singer who is working hard to change that with his own Maand Project.
