Explained: How DGCA's Latest Refund Policy Impacts Your Flight Bookings

In a major relief to air passengers, The Director General of Civil Aviation or the DGCA, has revised the ticket refund norms for airlines. From March 26, 2026, airlines must refund credit card bookings within 7 days and cash payments immediately. Under the new rules, passengers also get 48-hours to cancel or modify bookings without extra charges, with certain conditions.
