“Exit India If You Can’t Respect Our Constitution”: CJI Warns Meta Over WhatsApp Privacy Policy
The Supreme Court of India has issued a stern warning to Meta over WhatsApp’s 2021 privacy policy, saying the platform must respect the country’s Constitution and citizens’ right to privacy. Chief Justice Surya Kant criticized the policy for being deliberately misleading and questioned whether rural and non-English users could understand the clauses.
