Rajni mania at its peak in Chennai is the superstar. But setting the box office ablaze with Jayla. Remember? The Rajni mania is at its peak every time his films hit the theatre, but his last two films are not there and didn't really set the box office ablaze. So what's the take on Jaya? Joined by Jean, a keen observer of Tamir cinema industry and a producer himself. So thank you so much for talking to us. What is the take? As far as Jayer is concerned at the box office, has it nailed the box office as most of you would have wanted it to? What's your verdict that you know, this is creating records. I'll put it across in Tamil cinema, everyone is delighted with the kind of response the film jailer is getting. Uh, people always used to talk about Superstar is always the top star of Indian cinema, and he proved the game with the jailer that he's on. The top film is collected in all excellent numbers and the first day, despite the fact that Tamil Lado shows are limited. In fact, they didn't allow government didn't allow special shows. Normally here, no special shows are allowed at 1 p.m. or 5 a.m. at all. The shows are not allowed. Shows are allowed only from 9 a.m. so there are only five shows that are possible in each screen. So with that limited shows, the film is collected something like 23 to 26 Road in Tala, alone in Cara Cannot. All special shows are allowed from 6 a.m. It collected Number one collection. In fact, Kerala, the first day collection, is the highest collection for a non Malayalam cinema. Similarly, you know, and in overseas the film I know on the first day collected $4 billion which is like huge number $4 million on the first day. Where it's going, you know, they're expecting the film to go around $10 million so the entire overseas market 10 to $12 million to do in overseas is one. The prediction. Overall, the film that today Rajin has played his age. That's the biggest plus for the film. So earlier films, If you look at it, it was actually romancing. The earlier film, which has then phenomenal number, is 2.4 when a shear also acted in the film. But after that. This is a film which has brought him back in such a big glory, where the film is doing record making collection across the globe, not just in Tamil, not just in is doing so well in, and it's doing so well in the so and Kerala and such a kind of achievement. But his last two films didn't really work at the box office. What does this mean? If this is going to be a big hit to the industry when it comes to a rajani film? Basically, you know, um, if Tamil Cinema always respects, you know Raisa and Kamal as legends, they both are always respected for their incredible achievements for the last 45 50 years. OK, today they are on the top again. Look at it. Uh, even after 43 years, Kamar, after we become is, you know, become number one box of collection. Today Raja is achieving the same thing. So that means what said my entirely? What celebrating is these two guys are legends not just legends to be celebrated but legends to be looked upon saying that for box service collection they keep on setting the records. So that's a delight. So you're not talking about younger stars coming and replacing them? You are always going to look upon their records as a benchmark. That is the biggest achievement of Raisa. We can put it So did it last year with OK, so both Razi and Kamal are again setting milestones after milestones benchmark after benchmark for the Inca stars to tell them like I will remain there. We will remain there, as you know, is called You know will be called. As you know, superstar, They remain as top stars in our double cinema. They will also be the top stars of Indian C. Yes, we are at a loss of words. You need to be in a theatre in Chennai on the first day first released to understand really what we are talking about, as perhaps it is for in other parts of the country as well for other stars.
