He addressed Trump in a speech during the opening ceremony of the ninth edition of the Egypt Energy Show EGYPES 2026 which kicked off Monday. I speak to you in the name of humanity and in the name of all peace-loving people, and you, Mr. President, are a peace-loving person," he said. He added that the war was impacting global energy. "I am addressing you (Trump) directly, in my name, in the name of the entire region, and in the name of the entire world, regarding the grave consequences of continuing this war any longer. Please, Mr. President, please, please help us stop the war; you are capable of doing so," he said.
