The Enforcement Directorate requested the Jharkhand High Court to conduct a CBI probe into a case against its officials and journalists under the SC and ST Act. In fact, a few hours before the arrest by ED on January 31, an FIR was lodged against the agency's officers and media persons in Ranchi's SC/ST police station on behalf of the then Chief Minister. The case is currently being investigated by Ranchi Police, who had sent a notice under CrPC-41A to the ED officials, including its Assistant Director Kapil Raj, Assistant Director Devvrat Jha, Anupam Kumar and another officer, and called them to the police station for questioning. The Jharkhand High Court had stayed the notice.
