E20 Ethanol Row: Hardeep Puri Clears Air, Says No Decision Yet on E25 Fuel

Amid growing concerns over ethanol-blended fuel, Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has clarified that no decision has been taken to introduce E25 (25% ethanol blending) and dismissed reports suggesting an imminent rollout.

The minister said E20 fuel has been in use after extensive testing, with crores of two-wheelers and lakhs of four-wheelers already running on it without major issues. He accused critics of spreading misinformation and stressed that any future move beyond E20 would be based on scientific testing and technical validation.
