In a move aimed at improving living conditions for the economically weaker sections, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta conducted an inspection on Saturday of government-built residential units in Sultanpuri, North-West Delhi. The flats, originally constructed for the underprivileged, had remained unoccupied since their completion last year. Chief Minister Gupta was accompanied by Delhi Minister Ashish Sood during the visit. Reaffirming her government's commitment to inclusive development, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced that, if needed, the Delhi government is prepared to construct up to 10 lakh housing units to meet the growing demand for affordable housing among economically underprivileged communities.
