Delhi Gymkhana | Centre Orders Delhi Gymkhana Club To Vacate Historic Lutyens' Premises

The iconic Delhi Gymkhana Club, long regarded as a symbol of power and privilege in Lutyens' Delhi, has been asked by the Centre to vacate its 27.3-acre premises by June 5. The eviction order, issued by the Land & Development Office under the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry, states that the land is required for strengthening defence infrastructure and vital public security purposes. Established over a century ago, the club has historically been associated with Delhi's political, bureaucratic and business elite, making the move significant both politically and socially.
