Delhi Fire Tragedy: 21 Dead, Several Injured, PM Modi Aggrieved

A devastating fire in Delhi's Malviya Nagar claimed the lives of 21 people and left several others injured on June 3. The blaze, which broke out at a restaurant early Wednesday morning, triggered panic as rescue teams and locals rushed to save those trapped inside. Eyewitnesses recounted harrowing scenes from the tragedy, describing desperate attempts to escape the flames. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the loss of lives and announced an ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh for the families of the deceased and ₹50,000 for the injured. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also condoled the deaths and assured swift rescue, relief, and support measures for those affected.
