Delay In Vijay Oath "Unconstitutional": Abhishek Singhvi On Tamil Nadu Political Crisis

Senior Supreme Court lawyer and Congress MP Abhishek Manu Singhvi strongly criticised the Governor's handling of the government formation process in Tamil Nadu, calling the delay in inviting Vijay to form the government "deplorable" and "unprecedented." Singhvi argued that since Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam is the single largest party and no rival claimant exists, Vijay should be sworn in and allowed to prove his majority on the Assembly floor within a fixed timeframe. He questioned the Governor's insistence on seeing majority numbers beforehand, saying constitutional practice requires a floor test, not proof inside Raj Bhavan.
