Declined Rajya Sabha Seat Offer, Says Outgoing Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah

Siddaramaiah said the Congress high command offered him a Rajya Sabha seat, but he declined. He said he has no interest in national politics.

"The high command asked me to go to the Rajya Sabha, but I said no to it. I have no interest in national politics. I will be in active politics," he said.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah submitted his resignation on Thursday to the Governor's Special Secretary at Lok Bhavan in Bengaluru.

Special Secretary Prabhu Shankar received the resignation in the absence of Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot.

According to Lok Bhavan sources, Gehlot is in his native place, Indore, for personal reasons.

Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and other cabinet colleagues accompanied Siddaramaiah as he tendered his resignation.
