Day 20 of Sonam Wangchuk's Fast: Congress Extends Support, Appeals to End Hunger Strike
As Sonam Wangchuk's hunger strike enters Day 20, the Congress has finally broken its silence, extending solidarity with the activist while appealing to him to end his indefinite fast.
The party said it shares Wangchuk's concerns and anguish, even as political attention has shifted to the absence of Rahul Gandhi from the protest site at Jantar Mantar. While several Opposition leaders have visited Wangchuk to express support, Rahul Gandhi has instead travelled to Dehradun for the Congress' 'Chhatron Ki Goonj' campaign.
