Darjeeling Landslide News | 3 Members Of Same Family Die As Others Sleep, Relatives In Shock, Grief

Darjeeling Landslide News: Death toll in Darjeeling increased to 19 after tragic landslide following heavy rainfall in North Bengal. Heavy rainfall caused large-scale destruction in Darjeeling district, particularly in Mirik & Sukhia Pokhari areas. Roads and houses washed away under the force of water, causing heavy loss to civil life and property. At Mirik's lakesite on early Sunday, three persons of a family lost their lives after debris suddenly came on them. Deceased's relatives expressed their grief as they spoke to the media after the mishap took place at night. The names of deceased have been identified as Bijendra Rai, Usha Rai and Satma Lama. CM Mamata Banerjee is scheduled to arrive at the site to inspect the situation & government measures.
