The big news is the government is all set to roll out the Covid-19 vaccine next week. Health secretary Rajesh Bhushan said it would happen within 10 days of emergency use authorisation being granted. The drug regulator DCGI has granted restricted emergency use authorisation to two vaccine candidates - Covishield developed by the Pune-based Serum Institute of India in partnership with the Oxford University and Astra Zeneca, and Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech that has developed Covaxin in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
