Connaught Place will remain shut today, the New Delhi Traders Association has announced, citing public safety concerns and the risk of property damage amid the planned CJP protest in the national capital. The association warned that the shutdown would cause losses worth crores of rupees to businesses, particularly as thousands visit the market on weekends. While acknowledging citizens' democratic right to protest, traders said demonstrations should be shifted to larger, open sites away from city centres and commercial hubs to minimise disruption to businesses and the public.
