There's a massive protest online against the Centre's decision to conduct the medical (NEET) and engineering (JEE) exams in September amid the coronavirus pandemic. The hashtag #ProtestAgainstExamsInCOVID has been trending on social media with nearly three million tweets. Speaking to NDTV on the issue, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said, "Many students are away from their exam centres as they have gone back to their families during the lockdown. Many have not been able to study the normal way." The time is far from ideal to conduct examinations and as a result it will not be an accurate measure of talent and academic capability, he said.
