CJP Protest | Abhijeet Dipke (CJP Founder) And Neha Bora (AISA) Addresses Press Conference

Student groups have demanded the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and an end to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, alleging voter deletions, police brutality and the detention of protest leaders. The protesters are also demanding the release of jailed members and access to Jantar Mantar, asserting their right to peaceful democratic protest. Speakers accused the government of authoritarianism and criticised what they described as police excesses and restrictions on displaying the national Tricolour. They urged citizens to unite in defence of the Constitution and announced a protest at Connaught Place on October 11 against alleged voter disenfranchisement and human rights violations. The demonstrators vowed to continue their movement, raising the slogan “Inquilab Zindabad”.
