The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has condemned the Delhi Police's detention of influencer and social activist Dhruv Rathee amid protests at Jantar Mantar over alleged electoral roll irregularities. Calling the action part of a citywide crackdown aimed at silencing democratic dissent, the party has demanded Rathee's immediate and unconditional release. The CJP has also called for the release of hundreds of other citizens and student activists it says are currently in custody. The allegations come amid heightened security and restrictions on protests in the national capital.
