Several Workers Trapped As Water, Debris Enter Tunnel in Uttarakhand's Chamoli

At least 10 workers are trapped after water and debris entered a tunnel in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. Police said that 18 labourers were working in the tunnel when the sudden surge of water occurred in the tunnel. In the impact, many of them were pushed towards the tunnel's exit, as per the preliminary report. At least eight workers have been rescued so far while 10 still remain trapped. "Additional ambulances have been dispatched to the site. Police and administrative teams have arrived at the location," said Surjeet Singh Pawar, Chamoli Superintendent of Police.
