As India prepares to enter the seven-phased general elections, former Chief Economic Advisor and IMF Executive Director KV Subramanian speaks to NDTV's Gaurie Dwivedi. Poll promises like wealth redistribution will take India back to the 1980s era of 'garibi hatao', Mr Subramanian said, adding that India's focus should be growth and not freebies.
