Union Budget: Steel cos seek concessions

First came the price rollback and now India's steel lobby wants the FM to do his bit to bring down the price even more. The steel minister has already flagged off the agenda, seeking to half the excise duty to 8%, but expectations don't stop here. In the wishlist are tax hikes on iron ore exports and a simultaneous cut in customs on ore imports. They also want coke imports duty free and slashing customs on other raw materials like zinc, nickle, LNG.
