The government may go on saying that the fundamentals of the Indian economy are strong and job losses are not going to be an Indian nightmare but the truth is thousands have already been laid off. The worst hit have been the banking, financial and IT companies, where according to a rough estimate at least 35,000 have lost their jobs and many more could soon be on their way out.
