Even as the weak IIP figure for July underlines the structural weakness of the econmy, with poor domestic demand amidst contracting exports, MS Unnikrishnan, managing director, Thermax says that IIP numbers are increasingly becoming irrelevant. He adds that the capital goods space is unlikely to see a recovery in Q3 or Q4.
