Govt announces sugar subsidy package

The government has finally cleared the sugar subsidy package for the beleaguered sugar industry, which is expected to help the sugarcane farmers and the mills.The sugar mills will now be able to avail 100 per cent interest subsidy on bank loans from this financial year. Earlier the finance ministry had proposed a 40 per cent subsidy.
