Blockades by Jat protesters are in the process of being lifted after Home Minister Rajnath Singh announced the setting up of a high level committee headed by Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu to look into the demands of protesters while appealing for peace and calm. But the Jat quota agitation has claimed 12 lives with violence paralysing large parts of Haryana. Rohtak and Jind have been the worst hit with protesters setting fire to police vehicles, buses, hotels, malls, petrol pumps.
