Bull-Taming Sport At Full Display During Jallikattu Event In Tamil Nadu

The spirit of the traditional bull-taming sport was on full display at the renowned Jallikattu event in Madurai, as scores of ferocious bulls froze the tamers by boldly displaying their might. A bull-tamer is declared the winner based on how long he manages to hold on to the hump of the animal. As many as 465 tamers are taking part in the final event of the 2026 season, with nearly 825 bulls unleashed into the arena. Tamil Nadu's unique sporting event, Jallikattu, is held to coincide with the Pongal festivities, and the marquee event at Alanganallur has become a global attraction, drawing audiences from across the world.
