The streets of Mumbai are every mega mall's biggest fear and pedestrian's pain. But these popular shopping quick stops may soon fade out from the Mumbai's way of life. The city municipal corporation, or BMC, now promises to give Mumbai a facelift by chalking out hawking zones, restricting hawkers to approximately just 200 streets in the city. This means that the prominent shopping streets like Linking Road and Hill Road in Bandra and all roads leading to railway stations will be free of hawkers.
