BJP Fields Sreerupa Mitra Chowdhury From Malda South

In the Malda South seat, which is one of the last remaining Congress held seats in Bengal, the BJP holds one assembly seat while the TMC holds the other six assembly segments. The BJP has fielded English Bazaar MLA Sreerupa Mitra Chowdhury who is running a unique campaign by organising folk music and cultural events along the theme of her campaign. Chowdhury also goes by the popular title Nirbhaya Didi, which is very much part of her political identity in these elections.
