Bird Flu Scare In UP: All Zoos Shut, Central Authority Constitutes Five-Member Panel
All zoos in Uttar Pradesh, including the Lion Safari in Etawah, have been closed to visitors for a week after bird flu was detected in a tigress that died at the Shaheed Ashfaq Ullah Khan Zoological Park in Gorakhpur last Wednesday. According to the zoo's director, visceral samples sent to IVRI Bareilly and NIHSAD Bhopal confirmed the presence of bird flu.
