Bhopal Murder: Rs 1.2 Crore Testicle Myth From Instagram Reel Led To Teen's Killing

A shocking murder investigation in Bhopal has allegedly uncovered a bizarre motive linked to an Instagram reel. Police say 17-year-old Rehan was lured with a promise of Rs 100, taken to an isolated location and killed after the accused allegedly believed a false claim that a teenager's testicles could fetch Rs 1.2 crore. Police have arrested Zoheb Khan, 20, and Aamir Qureshi, 18, and detained three minors. Investigators allege that Zoheb, a BBA student who reportedly posed as a doctor, convinced the group about the supposed value of the body part. Police say no medical evidence or buyer has been found to support the Rs 1.2-crore claim. The victim's identity was established days after his decomposed body was recovered from the Dhobighat area near Chhota Talab. Police are now investigating the Instagram reel that allegedly fuelled the conspiracy and examining how an online myth turned into a deadly crime. NDTV's Apurva brings you more on this.
