A 27-year-old techie, Shilpa, was found hanging at her Bengaluru residence. Her parents have alleged it to be a case of dowry death. Married to software engineer Praveen for two and a half years, Shilpa leaves behind a one-and-a-half-year-old child. The family claims she faced repeated harassment over dowry and abuse over her skin colour, despite fulfilling demands of cash and gold. They allege fresh demands of ₹5 lakh for a business were also made.
