BCCI, Bangladesh At Loggerheads: Cricket Takes Back Seat To Geopolitics
A massive controversy has erupted after Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman was dropped from the KKR squad for IPL 2026 following BCCI directions. As a result, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has written to the ICC seeking the global cricket body's intervention.
The BCB said in its official release that it has requested the International Cricket Council to shift its T20 World Cup 2026 matches from India to Sri Lanka. Amid growing political tensions between the two countries, the BCB decided that the national side will not travel to India due to security concerns.
