A group of women in Kolkata who have individual and different areas of interest but work for other women in the city and beyond spoke about what they want from the elections, and what they will be voting for. A range of issues came up before them, from the protection of the rights of domestic workers to mental health patients, to the struggle of women in Manipur and Jammu and Kashmir against the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act. They say they need to vote for parties that don't exploit communal identities and invade free speech and work to ensure democracy. Without democracy, women's rights would be in danger, they say.
