"Bargain Sale" Of Rajya Sabha MPs?
There has been a mass exodus of opposition MPs in the Rajya Sabha, and these MPs have now crossed over to the BJP. This exodus is unprecedented as in the last 50 days, nine MPs have crossed over to the BJP. While the BJP has a mammoth majority in the Lok Sabha, it short of about 20 lawmakers in the upper house which creates legislative deadlocks. Now, because of the exodus, this gap is narrowing out. On Reality Check, we ask, why are MPs defecting, and are these MPs defecting under "pressure"?
